Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC)
Polyaluminium chloride
Pre-polymerized aluminium coagulant for drinking water, wastewater and industrial process water.
Applications
- Coagulation & flocculation
- Drinking water treatment
C
Highly porous adsorbent for removing color, odor, taste and organic contaminants from liquids.
Activated carbon is a processed form of carbon with an extensive internal pore structure, giving it a very large surface area for adsorption. In powdered form it disperses readily into liquids for batch treatment.
It is used to remove taste, odor and organic contaminants in drinking water and wastewater treatment, and for decolorization and purification in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical processing. Suitability depends on the raw material and activation grade, which we confirm on request.
Typical uses for this chemical. Suitability for a specific process, and grade requirements for food, pharmaceutical or potable-water use, should be confirmed with our team.

Identifiers and classifications are standard reference data for the substance. Forms, grades and packaging reflect what is commonly traded internationally; availability for your order is confirmed in the quotation.
Typical values for commonly traded grades of Activated Carbon Powder, based on international standards and published manufacturer data.
| Parameter | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Iodine number | ≥ 500 mg/g |
| Moisture (as packed) | ≤ 8% |
| Passing 100 mesh (150 µm) | ≥ 99% |
| Passing 200 mesh (75 µm) | ≥ 95% |
| Passing 325 mesh (45 µm) | ≥ 90% |
| Parameter | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Iodine number | ≥ 850 mg/g (coal, mesoporous) to ≥ 1,100 mg/g (coconut shell) |
| Ash | ≤ 18% (coal-based, typ. 15%); ≤ 4% (coconut shell) |
| Moisture | ≤ 5% |
| Apparent density | 0.39 g/mL aspirated / 0.60 g/mL tapped (coal); 0.48-0.53 g/mL (coconut) |
| BET surface area | ≈ 900 m2/g (coal-based, typical) |
| Water solubles | ≤ 3% |
| Particle size d50 | 8-15 µm (fine), 15-35 µm (standard), > 35 µm (coarse) |
| pH (water extract) | Coal 9-12 unwashed (7-9 after acid wash); coconut 8-10 (7-9 after acid wash) |
Performance depends on raw material and activation: coconut-shell carbon is microporous (high iodine number), coal and wood carbons suit larger molecules and colour removal.
Typical values are for guidance. The specification for your order depends on grade and origin and is confirmed in the quotation, Technical Data Sheet and Certificate of Analysis.
